How to Engage Your Kids in the Great Outdoors: Where to Start

Do you have kids or grandkids? And do you want to involve them in your outdoor adventures?

Just the other day I took my three grandkids out fishing. They’re at that wonderful age where everything is new and exciting as they explore the world.

If you have kids or grandkids, I want to encourage you to take them with you when you go on outdoor adventures.

Of course, for me, that means taking them fishing!

Fishing has always been a part of my life, so now as a grandpa, it’s my duty to take my grandkids out to the pond or stream and teach them how to fish.

It doesn’t have to be fancy, just take your kids or grandkids to some of your favorite places and spend time with them. It will bring you and them great joy and allow you to teach them skills they’ll enjoy for the rest of their life.

As a grandpa, angler, and artist, one thing I love to do is make replicas of these memorable catches for these first-time & young fishermen—that first good fish is a trophy to them and a high water mark in their future fishing adventures.

You know, that first fish they catch may not be a trophy fish, but it’s a trophy fish to them. And the great thing about fish replicas is that they preserve those memories forever!

So if you’re a parent or grandparent wanting more tips on getting your child involved in the outdoors, or are curious about getting a replica from your latest fishing adventure with your kids, come see me at Rivertown Gallery or call me up at (870) 425-3898. I’d love to talk with you!
